How to Get the Best from Your Greek Candle

First Burn Allow the candle to burn long enough for the wax to melt all the way to the edges on the first use. This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn throughout the life of your candle.

Trim the Wick Before every burn, trim the wick to approximately 5mm. This keeps the flame at a safe, controlled height, prevents excess smoke, and extends the life of your candle.

Burn Time Burn your candle for no longer than 4 hours at a time. Allow the wax to cool and solidify completely before relighting.

Extinguishing Your Candle Use a candle snuffer or gently dip the wick into the melted wax to extinguish the flame. Avoid blowing out the candle as this can cause hot wax to splatter and may produce smoke.

Candle Safety — Please Read Before Use

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets at all times
  • Always burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from the edge of furniture
  • Keep away from flammable materials including curtains, paper, and soft furnishings
  • Never move a candle while the wax is liquid or the vessel is warm
  • Do not burn in a draught — this can cause uneven burning, excess smoke, and flaring
  • Keep the wax pool free from wick trimmings, matches, and debris
  • Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time
  • Stop burning when approximately 1cm of wax remains — burning beyond this point can cause the vessel to overheat
  • Never use water to extinguish a candle flame
  • Ensure the room is adequately ventilated when burning
  • If the flame becomes too large, extinguish immediately, allow to cool, trim the wick, and relight
